It's shanty, it's small, and there's no ambiance. The food more than makes up for it.
I usually get the chicken here. I haven't tried anything else, except the breakfast tortas. That usually consists of just eggs and cheese.
The chicken is savory, and has a hint of spice to it. It's always moist, and you can tell it's been stewed. I usually get a burrito, and they stuff it so much it cracks open. It's five dollars, and it fills you up.
It's nothing to go out of your way for, but if you're local, then it's great. -

So I've been here many times, many years ago, the last time being about 2 years ago. My group of co-workers and myself would come here so often, that we nicknamed it "the shack", well because It looks like a shack.
It was pretty good back then, and I'm glad to say that they're still pretty good now, after my visit here today.
Can't believe I never yelped them before. I guess this place is just a little run down looking shack, so it's easily forgettable.....well, here is my chance now.
Small place, kitchen in the middle with the dinning area's on both sides, a couple of counter tops islands, counters against the walls and bar stools all over the dinning area.
Simple menu, great prices. Workers are pretty nice and friendly, food comes out fairly quick.
The breakfast tortas has always been my go to item, but today, I ordered the breakfast burrito with sausage.
First time trying it and it was totally amazing. Opted for rice and beans, instead of the usual hash browns. It reminded me of a really good home cooked burrito. The rice and beans combined with the sausage, egg and salsa gave it that authentic rural country feel to it. Hash browns are good, but it makes it Americanized. Sometimes it's good to go country.
Don't let the looks of this place deceive you, as this place serves up some tasty above average food. -

It pains me to write a bad review but the tacos were inedible. I've had tacos all over LA and in Mexico and I just couldn't finish these. I was with two other people and they felt the same way. I went here after Sonoratown around the corner had an hour long line. Since it was my first time here I had 1 carne asada taco, 1 carnitas, 1 al pastor. I've had thousands of each of these tacos before so I have a good idea of what they look, feel, and taste like. As soon as I looked at themI had a bad feeling. I ate a bit of the carne asada and when I sampled the other two the texture and look was off and I couldn't finish eating them. The one plus was that the drinks are $1 which is impressive because you can get horchata and tamarindo for $1 which is unheard of. Sorry, I wouldn't go back. I never write a bad review but had to for this one.

This place is the quintessential Los Angeles taco shop. $5 for most burritos. The guys were really nice, food was served quickly and value was really good.
